Human-Wildlife Conflict in Indonesia: 62 bullets for an orangutan

The substantial experience of the Asian Arks Team means we are all too familiar with the consequences of deforestation and the human-wildlife conflict that results. Deforestation caused by palm oil cultivation is pushing orangutans closer to farmers who see them as pests. One orangutan was said to have been shot 62 times, and yet managed to survive.
