Ms Viengphet (nickname: “Phet”) has a higher education degree from the Animal Husbandry Vocational College in China where she studied veterinary medicine and gained experience at a veterinary hospital. After returning to the Lao PDR, Ms Phet volunteered for the IUCN/SSC’s Saola Working Group, working on species identification and database management for the camera trap photos taken by the project in Khoun Xe Nong Ma protected area. Ms Phet is originally from Xieng Khouang Province, but now lives in Vientiane Capital. Phet is fluent in Chinese and also speaks and writes English.
