Chanthasone Phommachanh Olay

FORMER CONSERVATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR – LAO PDR

Chanthasone Phommachanh (“Olay”) is a biodiversity survey specialist and from Laos with extensive experience in leading field-based biological monitoring teams in the forests of the Annamite range. Olay graduated with an MSc in 2016 from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, Bangkok, Thailand. His thesis was on habitat use by threatened ungulates in the Northern Annamite Mountains of Lao PDR. Currently, Olay shares his time between Asian Arks as a Conservation Program Coordinator and with the Saola Working Group (a member of the IUCN/SSC Asian Wild Cattle Specialist Group) as their Field Project Manager.
