Mr. Thong Eth has more than 30 years experience working in forest management, terrestrial conservation & protected areas, community-based forestry management by using participatory, integrated conservation and development/community engagement framework, and project management. Most of his work experience has been at the local level in project implementation, with more than six years as the executive director and acting director of the Nam Theun 2 Watershed Management and Protection Authority (NT2 WMPA). He also served at the central level of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry as the Deputy Director General of the Department of Forestry, overseeing three divisions: Planning and International cooperation (ASFN Country Focal Point); Village/NTFP Management; and Legislative Frameworks.
